A new acquisition at the museum is this iconic AA badge, originally belonging to a local man from Higham Ferrers. He travelled by car to various destinations in England helped on his way by the bespoke printed AA route planner. Quite the publication and a keepsake of the holiday. Visit the museum and see these
1950’s Bassett-Lowke tool maker and model engineer Walter Newcombe worked at the Bassett-Lowke model engineers in Northampton during the 50’s/60’s. Life is full of surprises! Whilst researching the Wellingborough train crash in the Northampton Mercury 9th Sept 1898, I spotted a reference to Lieutenant-Colonel Yorke, an Inspector for the Board of Trade.
