From the 20th of September until Halloween the museum has a new activity for families – find the dray horse shoes and pull a winner, losers get a sweet treat..
The railway employed draymen with their dray horse and cart to transport goods by road. With the onset of motorised vehicles the use of horses gradually dwindled, until in 1950 Rushden said’ good bye’ to them.
FREE Activity for big kids!
To celebrate 200 years of the modern railway the museum has selected items from the collection that illustrate some of the milestone moments, so please come along and use your detecting skills to find the objects amongst the four station rooms. This activity is available as a laminated sheet in the museum or as a down load for printing at home until we close for the for winter.
