634 Arriving at  Rushden 9th November 2009

Early November will see the arrival of a 1937 Brush built single deck Blackpool Tram at Rushden, following its purchase from Blackpool Transport Services Ltd.  The Tram is privately owned and will be permanently based at Rushden Museum.

During the winter months, The tram, which is in working order will have its interior restored back to a near original condition, once complete, work will be concentrated on the exterior, replacing the current advert livery, for the traditional green and cream livery of Blackpool trams.

It is hoped that we will be able to offer the chance to ride in the tram, once a suitable power supply has been found.

The tram was withdrawn from service in 2004 and was brought out and cleaned for Society members to view at Blackpool on 31st October 2009
